How to Join the AAABC
- Any Advertising Agency, Design Firm, Creative Boutique, Media Buying Agency or Marketing Consultant which has it's primary business office located in British Columbia.
- The organization must have been in business for a minimum of two years.
- The organization must serve a minimum of two clients who have no common corporate relationship.
- Ability to satisfy all AAABC financial criteria
Financial Criteria
Any organization applying for membership must submit to the board of directors a letter of application containing the following:
- Details as to the length of time the applicant's organization has been in operation
- A letter from the applicant's accountant stating the applicants financial statements have been audited for the past 2 years, or a letter from a member or partnership whose partners are members in good standing of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants association stating that the applicant's financial statements for the previous two years have been prepared at arm's length and meets the following criteria:
- Minimum positive working capital of $150,000 (working capital defined as "current assets minus current liabilities")
- Profitability for at least the past 2 years
- Strong retained earnings.
Competence
In evaluating applications for membership the Directors will consider the applicant's competence in providing services normally considered standard for an Advertising Agency, Design Firm, Creative Boutique, Media Buying Agency or Marketing Consultant. Among other criteria, this includes competence in areas of advertising, mass communication, the ability to study an advertiser's business and products, to analyze their market, to form sound judgments, to give advice, and to render appropriate levels of service and product to aid the advertiser's growth.
Character
Prospective members must be ethical and posses a reputation for integrity and honesty. Members are expected to live up to the Institute of Communication and Advertising code of conduct.
Membership Form and Submission
Each applicant shall complete this form and send it to the current AAABC President by fax or e-mail. The information shall be kept confidential, contents known only to the AAABC Board of Directors.
